“However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name.” 1 Peter 4:16 (NIV)
I hope that you'll be able to join on on Sunday morning, as we look at the next part of the book of 1 Peter together. We will be joined by the Rev'd Dr Lee Gatiss, as our visiting preacher. Do please join us via Facebook (details below).
I hope that these emails and prayers are useful, and that you are able to spend a few minutes at noon each day, as we pray together as a church family. Please do keep sending your prayer suggestions to me, so that we can make sure we are praying around the needs, burdens and encouragements of our whole church family.
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” 1 Peter 3:15 (NIV)
In this part of 1 Peter, one of the key ideas is that the actions and words of Christians should prompt others to want to know more. So he encourages his readers to be ready to give an answer for why they are Christians. As we look at the passage together, I hope you’ll feel encouraged by the hope we have in Jesus.
