so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. (Hebrews 9:28, NIV)

On Remembrance Sunday, we righly remember those who have sacrified life and health for others. In the book of Hebrews, we read that Jesus, too, sacrificed his life for others - for us. You would be very welcome to join us at 10:50am in St Thomas, Northaw, or at 9am in St Thomas, Northaw, this Sunday, as we see what Jesus' sacrifice for us means.

Our Remembrance Sunday service is at 10:50am at St Thomas on 9th November. We’ll start outside at the memorial for an Act of Remembrance, before concluding the service inside the church building.

Unfortunately, we’re not able to livestream the service this Sunday.

Children’s Church

There is no children’s church this Sunday, as we all meet together at St Thomas for our Remembrance Sunday service.

St Andrew's Day 2025

The current St Andrew’s building was consecrated on 30th November, 1965. To mark and celebrate 60 years of the building, our service on 30th November will be a celebration of the building, and a rededication of the building following the reordering this year. We're really pleased that the Bishop of Hertford will be joining us for this service.

As part of the celebrations, we will be providing lunch after the service, more details of how to sign-up for that will be available shortly.

We hope that you will be able to join us for this celebration and rededication service.

Recollections and hopes for St Andrew

As part of our 60th service, I would love to be able to share some recollections and hopes for St Andrew. If you might be able to share something, please be in touch with Chris, the vicar.

Remembrance Sunday

Vacancies

Following our annual meetings we have a vacancy for two churchwardens and one representative on the Deanery Synod (and a treasurer). If you’d like to know more about them (without any commitment), please talk to Chris.

Rotas

We very much value and appreciate all the different people that welcome and help with refreshments, and the different voices that we hear from the front. We always welcome new people to these roles, even if infrequently, and we have some spaces at the moment. If you don’t already help, and this would be something you would like to do, please talk to Chris.

We’re currently using self-signup for the various rotas: blank rotas will be pinned up at the back of St Thomas. If you are one of our regular welcomers, readers, pray-ers, communion assistants, or refreshment helpers, please do sign up where you are able to.

Rotas for services in November and December are now available.

Sponsor a chair?

Would you be able to sponsor a new chair for St Andrew’s? Each chair will cost us around £80, and we would be very grateful for any donations towards the new chairs. You can give in the usual ways, please mark your donation as ‘Chairs’.
