So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter. (2 Thessalonians 2:15, NIV)
As the Thessalonians are confused with false teachings around whether Jesus has already returned, and whether that means that this is as good as life gets, Paul encourages them to stand firm to what they know and have been taught. Not so that they can understand themselves into being saved. No, Paul wants them to remember that Jesus is the one who saves, and he will keep them, and us, safe until he return. Why not join us this Sunday as we look at this amazing encouragement together?
You would be very welcome at our 10:30am service in St Andrew, Cuffley or at 9am for a service of Holy Communion in St Thomas, Northaw, this Sunday.
The 10:30am Sunday morning service will also be streamed. This will start at 10:25am, and can be accessed directly via YouTube or Facebook, found on our website, and is advertised on our YouTube channel and Facebook page.
We are having some problems with streaming, particularly with YouTube: if you do encounter problems with viewing the service via Facebook (or YouTube) please follow the link for YouTube (or Facebook) instead.
St Andrew's Reordering
As you come into the building, you may notice that there has been some more work on the porch; we're now waiting for the glass to be cut and installed. Our new organ is also rebuilt and at the front of the church - please do look at it, but bear in mind that the pipes are quite delicate.
Children’s Church
Our children’s church meets this Sunday morning in the Undercroft. Children are welcome from 10:20, and will join us in St Thomas towards the end of the service.
St Andrew's Day 2025
Our 10:30 service on the 30th November is our 60th anniversary service for St Andrew’s and rededication of the building after the reordering works. We're really pleased that the Bishop of Hertford will be joining us for this service.
This service is open to all, please invite your neighbours and friends.
As part of the celebrations, we will be providing lunch after the service, a sign-up sheet is available at the back of St Andrew’s.
Recollections and hopes for St Andrew
As part of our 60th service, I would love to be able to share some recollections and hopes for St Andrew. If you might be able to share something, please be in touch with Chris, the vicar.
Coffee Morning
The coffee morning on the 26th November will be a Christmas Coffee Morning with some gifts and other Christmas items available to buy.
9am Service
Because of the anniversary service, there won’t be a 9am service on Sunday 30th November.
Vacancies
Following our annual meetings we have a vacancy for two churchwardens and one representative on the Deanery Synod (and a treasurer). If you’d like to know more about them (without any commitment), please talk to Chris.
Rotas
We very much value and appreciate all the different people that welcome and help with refreshments, and the different voices that we hear from the front. We always welcome new people to these roles, even if infrequently, and we have some spaces at the moment. If you don’t already help, and this would be something you would like to do, please talk to Chris.
We’re currently using self-signup for the various rotas: blank rotas will be pinned up at the back of St Thomas. If you are one of our regular welcomers, readers, pray-ers, communion assistants, or refreshment helpers, please do sign up where you are able to.
Rotas for services in November and December are now available.
Sponsor a chair?
Would you be able to sponsor a new chair for St Andrew’s? Each chair will cost us around £80, and we would be very grateful for any donations towards the new chairs. You can give in the usual ways, please mark your donation as ‘Chairs’.

There are a lot of resources available online to help with Bible reading. A few of them are here, in case they are helpful for you.
