As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. ‘Come, follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will send you out to fish for people.’ At once they left their nets and followed him. (Matthew 4:18-20, NIV)
This Sunday marks 60 years since the consecration of St Andrew's church (and 110 years since Old St Andrew's). To mark the occasion, our morning service is one of thanksgiving and rededicating the building after the reodering work. We're being joined by the Bishop of Hertford for the service. Why not come along and help us celebrate?
You would be very welcome at our 10:30am service in St Andrew, Cuffley, this Sunday, as we celebrate 60 years of St Andrew's.
The 10:30am Sunday morning service will also be streamed. This will start at 10:25am, and can be accessed directly via YouTube or Facebook, found on our website, and is advertised on our YouTube channel and Facebook page.
We are having some problems with streaming, particularly with YouTube: if you do encounter problems with viewing the service via Facebook (or YouTube) please follow the link for YouTube (or Facebook) instead.
St Andrew's Tidy
At 3pm on Saturday 29th November, we are having a last tidy and set up before our anniversary service on Sunday. If you're able to join us you would be very welcome.
Children’s Church
There is no children’s church this Sunday, as we all meet together in the main body of the building.
St Andrew's Day 2025
Our 10:30 service on the 30th November is our 60th anniversary service for St Andrew’s and rededication of the building after the reordering works. We're really pleased that the Bishop of Hertford will be joining us for this service.
This service is open to all, please invite your neighbours and friends.
9am Service
Because of the anniversary service, there won’t be a 9am service on Sunday 30th November.
Vacancies
Following our annual meetings we have a vacancy for two churchwardens and one representative on the Deanery Synod (and a treasurer). If you’d like to know more about them (without any commitment), please talk to Chris.
Rotas
We very much value and appreciate all the different people that welcome and help with refreshments, and the different voices that we hear from the front. We always welcome new people to these roles, even if infrequently, and we have some spaces at the moment. If you don’t already help, and this would be something you would like to do, please talk to Chris.
We’re currently using self-signup for the various rotas: blank rotas will be pinned up at the back of St Thomas. If you are one of our regular welcomers, readers, pray-ers, communion assistants, or refreshment helpers, please do sign up where you are able to.
Rotas for services in December are now available.
Sponsor a chair?
Would you be able to sponsor a new chair for St Andrew’s? Each chair will cost us around £80, and we would be very grateful for any donations towards the new chairs. You can give in the usual ways, please mark your donation as ‘Chairs’.
Bible Reading Resources
There are a lot of resources available online to help with Bible reading. A few of them are here, in case they are helpful for you.
Home Communion
If you’re not able to join us on Sundays, and would appreciate a visit with Holy Communion, please be in touch with Chris.
