I hope that these emails and prayers are useful, and that you are able to spend a few minutes at noon each day, as we pray together as a church family.  Please do keep sending your prayer suggestions to me, so that we can make sure we are praying around the needs, burdens and encouragements of our whole church family.

Monday

“Show me your ways, Lord,
teach me your paths.
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Saviour,
and my hope is in you all day long.”
(Psalm 25:4-5)

Thank you, God, that you are our Guide and our Saviour. Please help us to put our hope in you, for each day and for eternity. Please help us to walk in your paths and to follow your guidance. Amen

Tuesday

God of healing, we pray today for the ongoing search for a COVID-19 vaccine. We thank you that there is progress; please would you help the process of testing, so that as treatments are found, they can be checked well for safety and efficiency. Please keep countries from using their research and any outcomes for political gain; instead would you please help the work being done all over the world to be used well for people everywhere. Amen

Wednesday

May God give us more than we can ever think or ask,
May God use us far beyond the sounding of our task.
May God lead us further than the visions we can see,
May God mould us day by day more perfectly.
May God bless us in the way he knows best
May God bless us that each life we touch may be more blest.
Amen

Thursday

Loving Father, we pray today for everyone involved in preparing schools for the start of term in England: for those who are managing, making decisions, planning, rearranging, ordering, cleaning, and in any way helping to get learning ready in a safe, secure and welcoming way. We pray for any parents and children who are struggling with anxiety as term approaches after so long away from school. Please would you give energy and peace to everyone who is in need of them. Amen.

Friday

Thinking of the many refugees who have been trying to find safe places to come to rest in Europe over the summer:

Almighty and merciful God,
whose Son became a refugee and had no place to call his own;
look with mercy on those who today are fleeing from danger, homeless and hungry.
Bless those who work to bring them relief;
inspire generosity and compassion in all our hearts;
and guide the nations of the world towards that day
when all will rejoice in your Kingdom of justice and of peace;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Saturday

Heavenly Father we thank you for our friends, and especially those who have shared our troubles and sorrows and have supported us in life’s dark valleys.
Help us to value them and regard each one as a gift and token of your love,
And make us ready to extend friendship to others around us.
