All services are now in St Thomas.
Eliashib the high priest and his fellow priests went to work and rebuilt the Sheep Gate. They dedicated it and set its doors in place, building as far as the Tower of the Hundred, which they dedicated, and as far as the Tower of Hananel. The men of Jericho built the adjoining section, and Zakkur son of Imri built next to them. (Nehemiah 3:1-2, NIV)
Nehemiah's prayers and request to the king have been granted, and he has arrived in Jerusalem to rebuild the city walls. At the start of chapter 3, we read about the work beginning - it reads a little like a list of 'thank you's for a job well done. Nehemiah's prayers, plans, and trust in God's provision have resulted in the walls being built. He's not alone, however, lots of people join in. Why not join us on Sunday morning, as we look at the invitation not just to join God's Kingdom, but to be part of building it?
You would be very welcome at our 10:30am service in St Thomas, Northaw or at 9am for a service of Holy Communion in St Thomas, Northaw, this Sunday.
With our move to St Thomas, we haven't been able to get our streaming set up working. The internet available to use isn't good enough to stream from the church. We are still looking at solutions and, if we are able to put it in place, we will do so.
Children’s Church
There is no children’s church this Sunday, as we all meet together in St Thomas.
Annual Meetings
At our annual meetings on the 25th we elected Gill, Kathy, and Kay to the PCC. We didn't elect any churchwardens. The vicar's report is also available online.
We have a vacancy for two churchwardens and two representatives on the Deanery Synod. If you’d like to know more about them (without any commitment), please talk to Chris.
Gala Day
The timing of the works in St Andrew’s has meant that we have decided to postpone the planned Gala Day from 21 June to 20 September. We will be combining it with the planned Flower Festival.
Heating work at St Andrew’s
The work at St Andrew’s has begun. The first stage has been to clear the area and start to lay the new floor. You can follow the progress of the work online.
60 Years of St Andrew’s
The current St Andrew’s building was consecrated on 30th November, 1965. To mark and celebrate 60 years of the building, we are planning a range of events during the year, culminating in a service on 30th November 2025.
Bible Reading Resources
There are a lot of resources available online to help with Bible reading. A few of them are here, in case they are helpful for you.
Home Communion
If you’re not able to join us on Sundays, and would appreciate a visit with Holy Communion, please be in touch with Chris.
Rotas
We’re currently using self-signup for the various rotas: blank rotas will be pinned up at the back of St Thomas. If you are one of our regular welcomers, readers, pray-ers, communion assistants, or refreshment helpers, please do sign up where you are able to.
Rotas for services in June and July are now available.
If you don’t already help, and this would be something you would like to do, please talk to Chris.
