I hope that these emails and prayers are useful, and that you are able to spend a few minutes at noon each day, as we pray together as a church family.  Please do keep sending your prayer suggestions to me, so that we can make sure we are praying around the needs, burdens and encouragements of our whole church family.

Monday

“My feet stand on level ground; in the great congregation I will praise the Lord.” (Psalm 26:12)

Thank you, Jesus, that we stand on the firm and ‘level ground’ of your death for us, so that we are made right with God and can praise you and live for you. Please help us to remember what it cost you to make us righteous, and to live for you this week, to the praise of your glorious grace. Amen

Please also continue to pray today for Mexico.

Tuesday

Grant to us, Lord, lives marked by faithfulness, by gentleness and self-control;
patience, kindness and goodness towards all we meet,
And so with love, joy and peace in our hearts.
the Spirit of Christ will bear fruit in us all.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Please also pray today for Micronesia.

Wednesday

Father God, we pray for our country as the pandemic continues. We pray for those who are continuing to study the virus and advise the government, and we pray for clear information and guidelines to help people to do our best for our country and for each other. We pray for the countries where COVID is still on the rise; for government and health workers there, and for the families who are left bereaved or destitute as the virus spreads. Please would you bring your comfort and your wisdom there. Amen

Please also pray today for Moldova and Monaco.

Thursday

Lord Jesus, we pray today for Northaw and Cuffley Primary Schools, as they open for all their pupils for the first time since March. We pray for the children in Years 1-6, for joy as they see all their friends together after so long, and for flexibility to adapt to new distancing and hygiene routines. We pray for new arrivals in Reception and any in other years, for comfort as they settle into a new environment. We pray for the staff, as they return to face-to-face teaching but work out how to fit it around guidelines, constraints and new layouts. Please would you walk, too, with those who have returned to secondary school, or started there for the first time this week. Amen

Please also pray today for Mongolia.

Friday

Almighty and loving God,
Although sometimes I stray from you,
Distracted by other considerations of the world around me,
I know that you are always near and will not fail me when I call on you.
May I always rejoice in your presence and never forget your great goodness.
Amen.

Please also pray today for Montenegro and Montserrat.

Saturday

We pray today, Lord Jesus, for our parish of Northaw and Cuffley. Please would you help us to see where there is need, and to find ways to meet it. Please help our church family to reach out with the good news of Jesus, who came to meet everyone’s greatest need. Amen

Please also pray today for Morocco.
