I hope that these emails and prayers are useful, and that you are able to spend a few minutes at noon each day, as we pray together as a church family.  Please do keep sending your prayer suggestions to me, so that we can make sure we are praying around the needs, burdens and encouragements of our whole church family.

Monday

Thank you, Jesus, that you taught us to avoid sin, but then died so that when we fail, we can be forgiven and, in the end, brought home to your kingdom.  Please help us to live this week in the light of your forgiveness, and looking forward to the coming of your kingdom.  Amen

Operation World asks us to pray for much of this week, beginning today, for Russia.  There are four suggested ‘challenges for prayer’ on the linked page; you could pray for one each day.

Tuesday

Father God, we pray for our PCC as they look fowards from the APCM to the rest of 2020 and further.  Please would you help them to make wise decisions, for the growth of your kingdom and for your glory, in our lives, in our church family, and in our parish.  Amen.

Please continue to pray today for Russia.

Wednesday

Abba, Father, the trees are ablaze with your glory.
The seasons change, but you never do.
You are always beautiful,
in the green and freshness of spring
as in the golds and reds and chills of autumn.
Make me like you.
Let my life reflect your beauty,
season after season,
as the calendar of my life turns and turns and turns.

The trees are letting go of this year’s foliage.
Help me let go of both blessings and burdens,
and surrender them both to your loving care.

Fallen leaves pattern the ground with variety.
So design my own fallings and failings
into whatever design will please you most.
In Jesus’ name, I pray,
Amen.

Thursday

Lord of hope, we pray for those who are facing redundancy because of the pandemic, as government support comes to an end and many sectors are still limited and struggling.  We pray that you would enable them to give their anxiety to you, and that instead you will give them peace.  Please would you also provide practical help for those who are in financial need, and where we can be part of that help, please show us.  Amen.

Please continue to pray today for Russia.

Friday

Gracious God, all that we have comes from you, make us sensitive in all our dealings with each other and with your whole creation. Grant that we may reflect your generosity in our lives, and do your will here on earth, that we may come to rejoice in your heavenly kingdom. Amen.

Please continue to pray today for Russia (the link today contains information about Russia from the charity Open Doors).

Saturday

God of mercy,
whose Son Jesus Christ lived among the poor and oppressed;
hear our prayer for those who are fearful, vulnerable and isolated;
be their strong defence in times of need,
and grant us the compassion and courage to minister Christ to them,
who is alive and reigns, now and for ever.  Amen

Please pray today for Rwanda.
