I hope that these emails and prayers are useful, and that you are able to spend a few minutes at noon each day, as we pray together as a church family.  Please do keep sending your prayer suggestions to me, so that we can make sure we are praying around the needs, burdens and encouragements of our whole church family.

Monday

“The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, ‘Who then can be saved?’' Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.’” (Mark 10:26-27)

Thank you, Lord, that while it is impossible to be saved by what we own or what we do, your death makes salvation possible for everyone who follows you. Please help us to trust you, above everything that might distract us from walking in your way this week. Amen

Please also pray today for Slovakia.

Tuesday

Bless the child in us lest we forget how to play and dream,
bless the adult in us lest we be denied the gift of responsibility.
and bless the whole of us lest we lose sight of your great love for ourselves and for all around us.
Amen

Please also pray today for Slovenia.

Wednesday

Our gracious Father, thank you for all those working in health care, and especially those in our congregation who are serving the community within the NHS and public health bodies. Grant them, and all who work in essential services, protection and strength for each day’s challenges, and to work with skill and patience. We also pray for the Prime Minister, the Health Secretary, and the chief medical and scientific officers that they and those who work with them will have wisdom and insight sufficient for the decisions they need to make at this difficult time. We ask in Jesus’s name, Amen.

Please also pray today for the Solomon Islands.

Thursday

Loving Jesus, who welcomed little children into your arms, we pray this week for children who need your comfort. We pray for those in care, we pray for those whose families struggle to feed them well, we pray for those who are anxious or afraid, and we pray for those who have lost family members in recent months. Please would you comfort them and help them to know they are forever loved. Amen

Please also pray today for Somalia.

Friday

Father God, we pray today for those whose livelihoods are affected by the pandemic, whether through businesses closing, through redundancy, or because they work in sectors that are so limited at the moment. Please would you help us, as a nation and here in Northaw and Cuffley, to keep our eyes and our hearts open for those in need. Amen.

Please continue to pray today for Somalia.

Saturday

Heavenly Father, we think of those who are going through times of trouble. We know you are both Lord and healer of your broken world, and we ask you to touch with your love all who are on our hearts this week because of their special need. May your love flood their lives with hope and healing, in spirit, mind and body. Amen.

Please pray today for South Africa.
