I hope that these prayers are useful, and that you are able to spend a few minutes at noon each day, as we pray together as a church family. Please do keep sending your prayer suggestions to me, so that we can make sure we are praying around the needs, burdens and encouragements of our whole church family.
Monday
“Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22)
Father God, please would you give us true faith in you. Please protect us from depending on the good things in our lives - church family, community, those we love, safety and security - and help us to depend wholly on you. Please would you help us to turn to you and depend on you even more at the moment in lockdown, when the pandemic has limited many of our usual habits and comforts; would you help us to see that you alone are utterly dependable and worthy of our trust. Please help us to give our lives even more to you through this difficult time. Amen

Tuesday
For all those who woke this morning
to the loneliness of bereavement –
the empty bed or chair,
an unaccustomed quietness,
a life now incomplete –
may they know your presence
in the stillness of the day,
and through the love of friends
who offer their condolence.
And in the darker moments
may they reach out to hold your hand
and feel the warmth of the One
who has already passed from death to life
to welcome others into God’s Kingdom.
Amen

Wednesday
Please strengthen and encourage those who are working in supermarkets, delivery services and the postal service as they continue their work to serve their communities. Protect them from the virus, and bless them with the kindness and gratitude of others. Amen

Thursday
This is the day that the Lord has made!
Heavenly father, I am your humble servant, I come before you today in need of hope. There are times when I feel helpless, There are times when I feel weak. I pray for hope. I need hope for a better future. I need hope for a better life. I need hope for love and kindness. Some say that the sky is at it’s darkest just before the light. I pray that this is true, for all seems dark. I need your light, Lord, in every way.
I pray to be filled with your light from head to toe. To bask in your glory. To know that all is as you have planned, and as you want it to be. Help me to walk in your light, and live my life in faith and glory. In your name I pray, Amen.
Please also pray today for Latin America.
Friday
Lord, we praise you for the hard work, diligence and enthusiasm of scientific teams around the world in creating vaccines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please would you provide all the resources needed to produce and distribute these vaccines as quickly as possible. Amen
Please also pray today for North America.
Saturday
Lord, help us to live abide in you and engage in the world, so your Gospel is lived out among us in Northaw and Cuffley. Please would you revive our hearts to love you so much that your love overflows to those around us. Grant us boldness to risk dismissal or rejection for the sake of bringing your love to others, so that your name is known and honoured through us in our community. Amen
