I hope that these prayers are useful, and that you are able to spend a few minutes at noon each day, as we pray together as a church family.  Please do keep sending your prayer suggestions to me, so that we can make sure we are praying around the needs, burdens and encouragements of our whole church family.

During Holy Week, we are using collects from a variety of sources to help guide our prayers.

Praying for the Parish

Please pray this week for all in these roads:

  • Coopers Lane Road
  • Coulter Close

The Collect for 29 March - 3 April

Almighty and everlasting God,
who in your tender love towards the human race
sent your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ
to take upon him our flesh
and to suffer death upon the cross:
grant that we may follow the example of his patience and humility,
and also be made partakers of his resurrection;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.

Monday

The soldiers led Jesus away into the palace (that is, the Praetorium) and called together the whole company of soldiers. They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him. (Mark 15:16-17)

Eternal Father, whose Son Jesus Christ ascended to the throne of heaven that he might rule over all things as Lord and King: keep the Church in the unity of the Spirit and in the bond of peace, and bring the whole created order to worship at his feet; who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Please also pray today for Canada.

Tuesday

Guard your church, Lord God, with your continual mercy, and because in our frailty we cannot stand without you, keep us from all that may harm, and lead us to all that makes for our salvation, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Please also pray today for the Republic of Cape Verde.

Wednesday

Father in heaven, keep your household the church firm in godliness, so that it may by your protection be free from all adversities and may devoutly serve you in good works to the glory of your name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Please also pray today for the Cayman Islands.

Maundy Thursday

God our Father, you have invited us to share in the supper which your Son gave to his Church to proclaim his death until he comes: may he nourish us by his presence, and unite us in his love; who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Please also pray today for the Central African Republic (Operation World).

Good Friday

Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of the church is governed and sanctified, receive our prayers which we offer to you for the many different members of your holy church so that every one in his vocation and ministry may truly and devoutly serve you through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Please also continue to pray today for the Central African Republic (Open Doors).

Holy Saturday

Lord, into the death of whose dear Son our Saviour Jesus Christ we have been baptized, grant that we may continually put to death our sinful desires and be buried with him so that we may pass through the grave and gate of death to our joyful resurrection through the merits of him who died, was buried and rose again for us, your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Please also pray today for Chad.
