I hope that this email is useful, and that you are able to spend a few minutes at noon each day, as we pray together as a church family.  Please do keep sending your prayer suggestions to me, so that we can make sure we are praying around the needs, burdens and encouragements of our whole church family.

Praying for the Parish

Please pray this week for all in these roads:

  • King James Avenue
  • Kingsmead

The Collect for 31 May - 5 June

Almighty and everlasting God,
you have given us your servants grace,
by the confession of a true faith,
to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity
and in the power of the divine majesty to worship the Unity:
keep us steadfast in this faith,
that we may evermore be defended from all adversities;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen

Monday

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:16-17)

Loving Father, thank you for showing your love for the whole world by giving your Son, Jesus Christ, for us. Thank you that he came to save us not to condemn us. Please help me to be comforted and encouraged by your love for me, and to share that great news with those around me. Amen.

Please also pray today for Germany.

Tuesday

Lord we rejoice that you have called us to know you,
you have called us to love you,
you have called us to serve you.
May we reveal our calling, love and service in all our dealings.
Amen.

Wednesday

Loving Father, as many families spend time together in this week's school holiday, some for the first time in months or longer, we pray that you will build and heal relationships that have been limited by distancing. Please would you bless these times, and prevent an increase in infection numbers as a result. Amen.

Please continue to pray today for Ghana.

Thursday

Lord, thank you that groups and activities are starting to open up more in person. Please guide us as we transition into 'normal' living, give us energy, and aid our face-to-face communication skills. Amen.

Please continue to pray today for Gibraltar.

Friday

We give thanks, O God our Father for the many joys of this life;
for health and strength and all our powers of body and mind.
for our homes and loved ones and for the wonderful joy of friendship.
help us by the way we live to repay some of the debt we owe
for the sake of Him who came not be served but to serve,
Your Son our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.
