I hope that this email is useful, and that you are able to spend a few minutes at noon each day, as we pray together as a church family.  Please do keep sending your prayer suggestions to me, so that we can make sure we are praying around the needs, burdens and encouragements of our whole church family.

Praying for the Parish

Please pray this week for all in these roads:

  • Kingsway
  • Kingswell Ride

The Collect for 7 - 12 June

O God,
the strength of all those who put their trust in you,
mercifully accept our prayers
and, because through the weakness of our mortal nature
we can do no good thing without you,
grant us the help of your grace,
that in the keeping of your commandments
we may please you both in will and deed;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen

Monday

Then [Jesus] looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.” (Mark 3:34-35)

Loving Father, whatever our experience of family, we rejoice in Jesus' promise that we can be part of your family. By your Holy Spirit, may we show our unity in Christ in how we act with each other. Please help our church family to be a foretaste of the perfect family we will enjoy with you forever. Amen.

Please also pray today for Guadeloupe and Guam.

Tuesday

That we can glimpse you within creation
is a beautiful thought,
but also tells us that you desire to be seen,
to be found and known.
Open our eyes, Lord,
as we walk through this world,
feel the wind and sunshine,
see the majesty of creation
unfolding before our eyes.
Help us to see you.
Amen

Please also pray today for Guatemala.

Wednesday

God of all, you know both past and future; please would you give wisdom to those you have put in government in our country, and to those advising them. As we move further out of restrictions, please would you help those concerned to see and understand what they need to in the infection data still being gathered, and would you help them to advise and legislate accordingly, with hearts and minds wanting to serve and care for those they govern in the best way possible. Amen.

Please also pray today for Guinea.

Thursday

We pray for all those struggling at this time,
for those who have lost vision and grown cold in their love;
for Christians who have lost faith and entered into deep doubt.
We pray that the church may be witness to your resurrection.
O God our defender, answer us when we call. Amen.

Please continue to pray today for Guinea.

Friday

We pray for those who are feeling lonely and isolated, even as life starts to open up. We remember those whose lives look very different now to 15 months ago; those who have lost loved ones, jobs or homes; those whose lives have been changed. Please comfort them. Amen.

Please also pray today for Guinea-Bissau.

Saturday

Lord Jesus, take me this day and use me.
take my lips and speak through them.
Take my mind and think through it.
Take my will and act through it,
and fill my heart with love for you. Amen.

Please also pray today for Guyana.
