I hope that this email is useful, and that you are able to spend a few minutes at noon each day, as we pray together as a church family. Please do keep sending your prayer suggestions to me, so that we can make sure we are praying around the needs, burdens and encouragements of our whole church family.
Praying for the Parish
Please pray this week for all in these roads:
- Starling Lane
- Station Road
The Collect for 26 - 31 July
Almighty Lord and everlasting God,
we beseech you to direct, sanctify and govern
both our hearts and bodies
in the ways of your laws
and the works of your commandments;
that through your most mighty protection, both here and ever,
we may be preserved in body and soul;
through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen
Monday
Father God, thank you for the children who are part of our church family, and thank you for the wonderful message of the gospel, which they have been learning over the last few weeks, and that we remembered in the service on Sunday. Please help us all to 'forget about ourselves' and put you first in our lives; to 'pick up our crosses' and to walk with you whatever hardship comes into our lives, knowing you have died to save us; and to 'follow Jesus', obeying and loving our Saviour more and more every day. Amen
Please also pray today for Japan.
Tuesday
Loving Father, we pray for everyone we know who is grieving, in pain, or suffering because of illness in themselves or in someone they love. Please would you help them to know that your grace is sufficient for them, and that your power is made perfect in their weakness. Please show them your power, and your peace that surpasses understanding. Please quiet their worry and fear, help them to know that your arms are around them, and give them swift healing and recovery. Amen

Wednesday
Lord, as you come down to lift us up,
help us to show compassion and sympathy to others.
Give to your church a sense of service and humility.
May we be obedient to you,
seeking to do your will at all times,
thought Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thursday
All-knowing Father, today we ask you to bless countries and peoples who are not part of news headlines at the moment, but who are still struggling; for areas of the globe where COVID is still having a traumatic impact; for refugees who are still fleeing war and persecution; for countries who still struggle to feed their population. Thank you that you feed sparrows, clothe lilies, and count the hairs on our heads, and that nothing in the universe escapes your loving care. Amen.

Friday
Father God, please help us to find our rest in you. We pray for everyone who is taking holiday over the next few weeks after a long season of hard work: we especially pray for medical staff, teachers, church leaders, food suppliers, and other workers who are using the summer for some much-needed time to rest. Please would you give them peace and time to re-energise, ready to return and continue their service. Amen
Please also pray today for Kazakhstan.
Saturday
God of hope, our country at the moment feels balanced between hope and caution about life with COVID still circulating. Please would you continue to teach us to put our hope in you most of all, whatever happens with infection rates and hospitalisations; but please would you help us to get through this difficult time well, preventing transmission, healing those who are sick and sustaining those who are caring for them. Amen.
