During August, the regular prayer email is having a slight change in format. For each day there will be some prompts for your own prayers, as well as a country (or two) for which to pray.

Praying for the Parish

Please pray this week for all in these roads:

  • Sutherland Avenue
  • Sutherland Way

The Collect for 2 - 7 August

Almighty God,
who sent your Holy Spirit
to be the life and light of your Church:
open our hearts to the riches of your grace,
that we may bring forth the fruit of the Spirit
in love and joy and peace;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen

Monday

You could pray about something from the service on Sunday, for example: something you are grateful for, a change you would like to make in your life, or someone you particularly want to pray for.

Please also pray today for Kenya and Kiribati.

Tuesday

You could pray for global situations which are on your mind. You could pray for wisdom for leaders; for peace where there is war; for resources to get quickly to where they are needed, and for generous hearts for those who are in need.

Please also pray today for North Korea.

Wednesday

You could praise and thank God for any blessings that you are grateful for at the moment; for home, family, health, financial security, church family, weather, or anything else which is a particular blessing at the moment.

Please also continue to pray today for North Korea.

Thursday

You could pray for our community in Northaw and Cuffley, praying for the people you meet regularly, both in and out of the church family. You could pray that God will warm hearts to him, and grow his kingdom in our parish.

Please also pray today for South Korea.

Friday

You could pray especially for those we know with on-going needs, who need stamina, respite or special care at the moment.

Please also continue to pray today for South Korea.

Saturday

You could pray for yourself, for your growth in the knowledge and love of God. You could pray with the apostle Paul:

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ – to the glory and praise of God. (Philippians 1:9-11)

Please also pray today for Kuwait.
