I hope that this email is useful, and that you are able to spend a few minutes at noon each day, as we pray together as a church family.  Please do keep sending your prayer suggestions to me, so that we can make sure we are praying around the needs, burdens and encouragements of our whole church family.

Praying for the Parish

Please pray this week for all in these roads:

  • Hook Lane
  • Judges Hill

The Collect for 17 - 22 January

Almighty God, in Christ you make all things new: transform the poverty of our nature by the riches of your grace, and in the renewal of our lives make known your heavenly glory; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen

Monday

You could pray about something from the service on Sunday, for example: something you are grateful for, a change you would like to make in your life, or someone you particularly want to pray for.

Please pray for the PCC, meeting this morning, and Northaw School governors, meeting this afternoon.

Please also pray today for Africa.

Tuesday

You could pray for global situations which are on your mind. You could pray for wisdom for leaders; for peace where there is war; for resources to get quickly to where they are needed, and for generous hearts for those who are in need.

Please also pray today for Africa.

Wednesday

You could praise and thank God for any blessings that you are grateful for at the moment; for home, family, health, financial security, church family, weather, or anything else which is a particular blessing at the moment.

Please pray today for Northaw School governors, as they meet this afternoon to shortlist applicants for headteacher.

Please also pray today for The Americas.

Thursday

You could pray for our community in Northaw and Cuffley, praying for the people you meet regularly, both in and out of the church family. You could pray that God will warm hearts to him, and grow his kingdom in our parish.

Please pray today for the church’s worship team, meeting this morning.

Please also remember the family and friends of John Wightwick, whose funeral takes place this morning.

Please also pray today for The Americas.

Friday

You could pray especially for those we know with on-going needs, who need stamina, respite or special care at the moment.

Please also pray today for The Americas.

Saturday

You could pray for yourself, for your growth in the knowledge and love of God. You could pray with the apostle Paul:

We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:9-10)

Please also pray today for The Americas.
