But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’ (1 Samuel 16:7)
With King Charles’ coronation on the 6th May, we’re going to think about how God chooses a king. What is it that makes a good king? What kind of king do we really want? What kind of king does God provide for us?
You would be very welcome to join us at our 10:30am service in St Andrew, Cuffley or at 8:30am for a service of Holy Communion in St Thomas, Northaw, this Sunday, as we think about what God thinks makes a good king - and why it’s such good news for us.
The 10:30am Sunday morning service will also be streamed. This will start at 10:25am, and can be accessed directly via Facebook or YouTube, found on our website, and is advertised on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.
There is no children’s church this Sunday, as we all meet together in the main body of the building.
Due to a double booking, we unfortunately need to cancel the confirmation service planned for Sunday 21st May - we plan to rearrange for later in the year. If you have been baptised, but not confirmed, and might be interested in confirming your faith, please be in touch with the vicar, Chris (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Coronation Tea Party
We are planning a Coronation Tea Party in the afternoon of Monday 8th May, from 2:30-4:30pm. More details, including costs, will be available shortly. Numbers will be limited: do, please, use the sign-up sheet at the back of St Andrew.
Cuffley Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers
From 10am-12pm, on Monday the 8th, the Cuffley Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers will be running activities at St Andrews, along with the church - all are welcome to join us.
This is advance notice that our Annual Meetings are scheduled for Sunday 14th May 2023. At the meetings, we will elect churchwardens and PCC members, as well as hear reports from the previous year. If you would be interested in serving the church on the PCC or as a churchwarden, please be in touch with Chris.
As part of the preparations for the meetings, the Electoral Roll has been revised. A published list of those on the Electoral Roll is available at the back of both churches.
The Annual Report and Financial Statements will be available in the churches, and online, from 30th April.
More details, including Electoral Roll application forms, are available on our website. This page will be kept up to date with all the information and forms needed.
