I hope that these emails and prayers are useful, and that you are able to spend a few minutes at noon each day, as we pray together as a church family. Please do keep sending your prayer suggestions to me, so that we can make sure we are praying around the needs, burdens and encouragements of our whole church family.
Monday
“I do believe; please help me overcome my unbelief” (Mark 9:24)
Thank you, Lord Jesus, that when you were asked for help, you gave it. Please help us to follow you, whether we are full of faith or doubting this week, and please show us that you are worthy of our trust. Amen.
Please continue to pray today for Pakistan.
Tuesday
Father God, we pray today for all the students who have gone to university, often leaving home and living independently for the first time, but who have now become stranded in lockdown in their student halls or houses. Please would you calm their fears, ease their frustrations, and help them to find security in you. Amen
Please pray today for Palestine and Panama.
Wednesday
Lord, bless all who are finding life difficult at this time
and who have hard decisions to make this week.
We remember those who are struggling at home, at work, and in education,
or those struggling to come to terms with the way life is just now.
Give them the strength and knowledge that you are with them
and that their lives will eventually feel normal again.
Amen.
Please pray today for Papua New Guinea.
Thursday
Father God, with so many different but valid opinions about the best way to manage as a nation during this pandemic, it is very easy to judge and condemn others. Please fill us, as your people, with your peace to master frustrations and disappointments, and with your love and patience to be a blessing to those we disagree with. Please help us to stand out as people who honour everyone as created and loved by you, so that even through this long and frustrating time, we can bring glory to your name. Amen
Please pray today for Paraguay.
Friday
Grant, O Lord, the spirit of faith and courage to those who are bereaved, so that they may have strength to face the future with steadfastness and patience. May they not sorrow as those who have no hope; but may they be thankful for your great goodness to them in past years; and may they look forward with joy to the glory that you have prepared for those who love you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Please pray today for Peru.
Saturday
A prayer for the kingdoms of the world,
that they may become the kingdom of our God.
We ask that leaders of people and rulers of the world
may govern with wisdom and humility,
not full of selfish ambition or conceit,
that they may truly seek to serve and meet the needs of all people.
Amen.
Please pray today for the Philippines.
