I hope that these emails and prayers are useful, and that you are able to spend a few minutes at noon each day, as we pray together as a church family.  Please do keep sending your prayer suggestions to me, so that we can make sure we are praying around the needs, burdens and encouragements of our whole church family.

Monday

“But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” (Matthew 13:23)

God of the harvest, you describe yourself as a sower, planting his word in our hearts.  Please would you help us listen to your word and to understand it.  Please would it bear fruit in our lives, as we grow more like you, and increasingly show the world what you are like and how much you are worth following.  Amen

Please continue to pray today for Indonesia.

Tuesday

Reach out, my Lord, and touch my soul
And cleanse me from my sin.
Reach out and draw me from the dark
And let your love-light in.
Your love that fills my souls with joy,
That makes the wild things sing.
In whiteness, brightness, claim my soul
My loving heavenly King.  Amen

Please pray today, Wednesday and Thursday for Iran.

Wednesday

Creator God, as funding was announced last week for the arts in the UK, we pray for all those who work in this sector, and for all the organisations and venues they represent.  Thank you for your gift of artistic expression.  Please would you financially sustain all whose job it is to entertain, inspire and challenge us in this way.  Amen

Please continue to pray today for Iran (further information about Iran, especially the Christians living there).

Thursday

Loving Father, please sustain all teachers as term draws to a close.  Would they have energy for their classroom work, and motivation for their screen-based teaching.  Please would they get a good rest during the summer holidays.  We pray, too, for children as term finishes and often they leave a class and a teacher.  Please would you especially bless the year 6 pupils from Cuffley School and Northaw school as they leave primary school for the last time this week.  Amen

Please continue to pray today for Iran.

Friday

God of peace, we pray for countries broken and divided by war,
For all people facing ethnic violence and hatred,
All who are being discriminated against.
We remember those being robbed of their homes,
Of their land or their livelihoods.
Lord we call to you, hear us and answer us. Amen.

Please pray today and Saturday for Iraq.

Saturday

Almighty God, we pray today for our government as they continue to try to make good decisions for the health and economy of our country.  We pray for them to have your wisdom and your love, as they try to balance so many different factors, and mitigate as far as possible the effects of COVID-19.  Amen

Please continue to pray today for Iraq (further information for prayer, especially concerning Christians living there).
