“I have written to you briefly, encouraging you and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand fast in it.” 1 Peter 5:12 (NIV)

I hope that you’ll be able to join us tomorrow, as we look at the final section of Peter’s letter together. Peter has come to the end of his letter, and he brings all of the letter together, and reminds of the big picture of God’s work, and encourages us to fix our eyes on Jesus, and to stand firm, together, in our faith in him. Do please join us via Facebook (details below).

Audio Recordings

By about 11:30 on Sunday, the audio from the 10:30 service should be available to listen to by calling 01707 927907. As well as the ‘dial-in’ service, audio recordings of all services are also available through SoundCloud.

1 Peter

You might find this short video helpful in looking at the whole of 1 Peter.

If you’re able, please pray and read the week’s passage of 1 Peter before the service. This week, we will be looking at 1 Peter 5:1-14. As you read it, have these questions in your mind:

  1. How does the passage make you feel?
  2. What stands out to you?
  3. What surprised you?
  4. What do you want to find out more about?

I still have a few of the 1 Peter books available (these are copies of 1 Peter with extra space to write your own thoughts and prayers); if you would like one, please let me know.

Church Family Fellowship

After the Sunday service, we’ll have coffee together via Zoom (details on the website); if you’d like to be part of the meeting, please email me.

Praying at Noon

I know some have already been doing this. Please can I encourage you, when possible, to stop at noon and spend a few minutes praying - we may be physically separate, but we can still pray together; we’ll email out possible areas for prayer each week. If you would like to make any suggestions, please email prayers@norcuff.com.

Reopening the church building

The PCC had a conversation earlier this week about how and when we can begin to open our building again. This is all subject to any specific guidance or changes from the diocese or from the government. We plan to have each building open once each week for private prayer, this will be as soon as everything is in place to ensure safety for all. Specific details will be available as soon as they are available.

The specific guidance about opening for public worship has not yet been issued by the government, and so we are unable give detailed information as to what we can have. At the moment, we are looking to begin an early morning service from early August, while also maintaining an online service each Sunday.

Foodbank

We are collecting for our local foodbank, and make a delivery on the first Wednesday of each month. Please contact us on 07745 270042 to arrange delivery of donations; if you are unable to make a delivery, we may be able to arrange collection. More details are available on the website.

Roses

The church has been very kindly donated some rose plants. For a donation of at least £10 to church funds, we’d be very happy to give you one of them. Please be in touch with the churchwardens (churchwardens@norcuff.com, 07838 919829) if you would like to know more.
